The '''K. Hovden Company''' was a fish and fruit canner started by Knut Hovden. Hovden, a graduate of the National Fisheries College in Bergen, Norway, had come to the U.S. in 1904 and worked for the [[F. E. Booth]] sardine cannery in Monterey. Knut eventually broke off on his own to form his own cannery<ref>History of [http://hartmansion.com/hovdenmansion.html Hovden Mansion], Monterey.</ref>. Hovden's cannery is now the [http://www.montereybayaquarium.org Monterey Bay Aquarium].
