According to San Jose News editorial on June 24, 1927 was the "manufacturing arm" of [California Prune and Apricot Growers].
Started off that way - report from
Kansas State Board of Agriculture mentions that Growers Packing and Warehousing was officially a subsidiary, probably for ownership of the crop. More in
