Alfred E. Friant was a San Jose business owner. He was, at different times, a paper dealer[1] and San Francisco mechantilist, but was also active in the Great Western Can Company, an upstart can company associated with the San Jose Fruit Packing Company.
He was the president of the Great Western Can Company in 1896[2], and also served as its secretary[3].
