Shipped 650 carloads of dried fruit in 1893-4 according to Sunsweet Story.
Killed himself in 1899, supposedly because of financial pressures from bank failure. San Francisco Call, Feb. 8 1899 . (Any relation to R.K. Thomas who was in business with Hyde?)
