Summary
Main Location

San Jose

The Italian Canning Company was a San Jose canner started in 1917. The cannery was operated by J. Patorno of New Orleans[1]. An article in Western Canner and Packer noted the construction: "A large plant will be established in time for operations next year."[2] The company was also flagged in 1917 for selling adulterated tomatoes[3]. The company was still listed as active in 1922[4], though another source shows the plant at Fourth and Margaret sold by 1920[5].
