Fresh fruit packer, founded by Abram Block, an early California pioneer, and former banker. Block moved to California after business reversals from speculating in mining stocks. The company was located on the northwest side of Santa Clara according to a 1922 history, and shipped 500 to 900 carloads of fruit a year. The 1922 Santa Clara County history billed it as the "largest deciduous packing house in the world."
