Pacific Wine Company was a San Jose-based winery founded either before 1870 or in 1888, and in operation through at least 1909. The officers at one point were William Farrington (president) and T.S. Frolich (secretary). Antone Palladine names was on the wine-making staff. David Thornton was representative in 1872-3, engaged in shipping wine to New Orleans[1].
The company was sold to Carpy in 1891[2]. Pacific Wine moved to San Martin in 1909[3]. The company continued to occupy its plant west of the narrow gauge railroad along Bush Street through 1907. It was then used by the dried fruit packer Griffin and Skelley, and eventually became Del Monte's dried fruit plant, Plant #51.
