Details

Founded by George Pratt, D. Low, Frank Wilder. Built a cannery on 22 acres in Santa Clara, at Bellomy and the Alameda, formerly the Pacific Manufacturing Company site.

Wilder House history Wilder had also been a founder of the [Security Warehouse and Cold Storage] Companyn

Wilder had worked for the [California Fruit Canners Association] before starting his own company.

Merged with Southern California-based Fitzsimmons stores in 1956, sold to Duffy-Mott in 1960. Cut back to canning only prune and tomato juice in 1971, shut down for good in April 1978.

In 1902, George Pratt was a fruit buyer living at 11 Pleasant Avenue;

Aerial photo at Sourisseau Academy Ad in February, 1923 Western Canner and Packer mentions "four model canneries".

Modesto location July 1922 Western Canner and Packer reports that Pratt-Low is planning to can 250,000 cases of apricots and peaches during the season.
