The Thomas-Body Company was a canner operating in Fruitvale in 1921[2]. Thomas-Body had been operating in San Francisco, but moved to a new 30,000 square foot plant in Fruitvale in mid-1921.

In 1920, the company was canning tomatoes, pears, peaches, berries, apricots, and crushed tomatoes[3].

Officers in 1927 included Benjamin H. Body (secretary), Ralph E. Cotter (vice-president), and William E. Thomas (president, residence on Shepard Canyon Road)[4].
