Western Pump was a San Jose-based pump and turbine manufacturer. The company was also known as the Bradford Manufacturing Company[1] The company apparently produced pumps for agricultural and industrial purposes; the Libby, McNeil, and Libby cannery in Sacramento used the company's pump for their water supply[2].
The company also drilled wells, and won the contract for the Moffett Field in 1932[3].
According to patents, the company was in existence as late as the 1960's[4].
Taylor Bradford, owner of the company in the 1960's, was considered part of San Jose's power structure, and was a member of the influential University Club[5].
