Summary

San Jose-based winery, located near the narrow gauge depot in San Jose. Sold to Carpy in 1891. Moved to San Martin in 1909; their former site became "[Griffin and Skelley]":/view?industry=griffin_and_skelley and eventually Del Monte's Plant #51.

Details

Supposedly occupied the [Griffin and Skelley] buildings along the narrow gauge until 1907. Moved to San Martin in 1909 acc to article in June 1, 1909 issue of Pacific Wine and Spirit Review.

1890: William Farrington, president, T.S. Frolich, secretary.

On 1891 Sanborn map.. In 1890, 1901 city directories. Not in 1903. 1891 map lists as "C.Carpy Winery". David Thornton was representative in 1872-3, engaged in shipping wine to New Orleans according to Santa Clara County History.
