United Canneries was a Southern California canner that expanded into Oakland in the early 1920's. The company was bought by Virden Packing in 1922[1]. The Oakland cannery supposedly had a 200 x 400 foot warehouse.
The company was sued in 1922 by a fruit buyer who claimed he had gathered long-term (ten year) contracts with growers[2]
