The Kirsten Packing Company was an Oakland-based canner operating the Walnut Creek Canning Company in Walnut Creek, and a sardine cannery in Monterey[1]. The company packed tomatoes and fruit. The company apparently also had plans to pack meat[2].
The company hit hard times in 1922, with financial problems beginning after the death of the owner[3]. The Walnut Creek cannery was operated by Helmond and Franke in the 1924 season[4].
