Ferrara Meat Company was a San Jose slaughterhouse founded by Philip Ferrara in 1946. The company's plant was near Zanker and Trimble roads. The company slaughtered 300 cows a day up through 1992, but switched to trucking in meat slaughtered elsewhere[1]. The owners sold the property in 1996, but continued to raise cattle in other parts of California[2] The
