Knowles Brothers was a San Jose-based dried fruit packer, run by W. C. Knowles and Frank J. Knowles. The company took over Start and Morrison in 1897[1].
The company still existed as late as 1905,as seen when E.A. Ellsworth, owners of a packing house in Niles, requested but never received 20,000 pounds of dried apricots[2][3].
