  1. Los Gatos. August 29, 1906 San Jose Mercury News. "General manager J. H. Walker of the Los Gatos Fruit Growers' Union informed the Mercury this afternoon that he had a number of men at work at the Delpech Winery, which has been leased by the union, converting it into a first class packing house. The double floors were being put in, and that within a few days the building would be ready for the machinery that is now stored in the Los Gatos canneries, where it has been in use for two or three seasons. Mr. Walker also states that the union has not accepted Mr. Hooke's resignation as honorary manager, and indicates that the organization desires that he shall retain that position, which is indicative of the confidence and esteem in which he is held by members of the union. Mr Walker also retains his position as buyer of cherries for Mr. Hooke for the coming season.
