The Riverdale Fruit Company was a dried fruit packer in San Jose in the 1890's. The company was run by Sanford A. Coe. In 1891, the company expected to sell around 60 carloads of dried fruit[1]. The company also exhibited at the Chicago 1893 World's Fair[2].
Coe had been in the wholesale fruit business in Minneapolis. In 1886, he came to Santa Clara county and bought a fruit ranch in the Willow Glen neighborhood[3]. Coe died in 1894[4].
The packing house at Northrup and Paula address was used by the Santa Clara Valley Fruit Company after 1896 and J. W. Chilton Fruit Packing after 1903.
