Company finally collapsed in 2000's for a host of reasons - changes in eating habits and wholesale purchases, problems with contracts, etc.  Their implosion created a huge mess in the Central Valley; Modesto and Empire VP still annoyed that they messed up so badly.

Large California canner, formed in 1958 from the merger of several smaller canning companies[1]. The founding companies included Filice and Perelli, Richmond Chase, Thornton Canning, and San Jose Canning Company.

By 1964, the company had merged into the larger Tri-Valley Growers. Joseph Perelli of Filice and Perelli discussed the buyout in an oral history at the Bancroft Library.
