Sherriffs Brothers was a Healdsburg-based dried fruit packer run by Charles Sherriffs. The plant was described as a "large plant in an extremely good location for the purpose and an important prune location", and had receiving stations in Santa Rosa, Napa, Geyserville, and Healdsburg[1].
In 1918, the company expected to pack 3,000 tons of prunes[2].
The packing house was bought by the California Prune and Apricot Growers in 1922[3] Charles Sherriffs was going to continue as superintendent, and Sunsweet planned to expand the plant. The Dry Creek area near Healdsburg would have been promising for Sunsweet as vineyards were replaced by orchards during prohibition[4].
