The California Fruit Association was a dried fruit marketing agency formed by several San Jose area cooperatives, founded around 1894[1].

The company's initial name was the "California Dried Fruit Agency". Initially, it represented the Campbell Fruit Growers Union, East Side Fruit Growers Union, West Side Fruit Growers Association, and Santa Clara County Fruit Exchange. At the time, the Willow Glen Fruit Union and Berryessa Fruit Growers Union were staying out of the California Fruit Association pool[2].
